For the latest issue of The Hollywood Reporter, we showcased the hottest category in men’s watches: panda dials, so named for their distinctive black-and-white faces. Inspired by the most famous panda dial of them all, the Paul Newman Daytona, which set a record at auction last year, the latest crop plays into the idea of status watches that are both timeless and a solid investment (in addition to Newman’s Daytona, other panda-dial Rolexes in particular have fetched healthy amounts at auction). The result: A panda dial is now a must-have for every watch collector.
