Ralph Lauren has been commemorating five decades in fashion throughout 2019, and the pinnacle of his year-long celebration took place in late October at the Metropolitan Museum of Art, site of the screening and splashy after-party of his HBO documentary, Very Ralph, which premieres on the cable network on Nov. 12th.
Many of the A-listers who love Ralph and have been dressed by him over the years turned up for the event, including Bruce Springsteen, Michael J. Fox and Ansel Elgort. I also earned the respect of my red-carpet peers when I shouted out to Bruce the request to answer a questions, and his nicely obliged and came over to talk briefly. You can’t be shy on a red carpet.
