For the June 2023 issue of the US edition of Business Traveler magazine, I was asked to interview Sir Richard Branson while he was in New York to celebrate the opening of his first Virgin Hotel in New York City. As we sat in a top-floor event space with a spectacular view of the Empire State Building, Branson talked about the hotel opening as the realization of a longtime dream, every since his first Virgin plan landed at Newark Airport in 1984. Branson's visionary view of travel these days extends beyond planes and hotels to include his adults-only Virgin cruise-ship line and Virgin Galactic, his ultimate dream, to ferry passengers into space.
