For American Way, I wrote about the trend of travelers seeking open-air hotels — destinations at which you can exit your room or suite directly into a garden, courtyard or other open-air environment, thus avoiding hotel corridors and other closed-in spaces. The trend of course is born out of travelers' desire to stay safe in the age of COVID-19, while still enjoying unique travel experiences.
