It’s always a pleasure to speak with fashion icon Diane von Furstenberg, but perhaps never more so than when discussing her latest project: as the fundraising chairman of the newly opened Statue of Liberty Museum. An immigrant herself, von Furstenberg uniquely understands what it means to love American and become a citizen, and held nothing back as she discussed her work for the museum, the love of her mother, which drives so much of her work, and of course her life as one of the 20th century’s most iconic designers.
