As a classic-film fan, I was absolutely thrilled for the opportunity to speak with Olivia de Havilland's daughter, Gisèle Galante, about the upcoming auction of her mother's estate with auction house Bonhams for a story to run online for The Hollywood Reporter. The event, set for May 13-23 in Los Angeles, includes a variety of personal items, from a silver box gifted to de Havilland by Samuel Goldwyn, Jr. to a silver compact given to the legendary star by her friend and frequent co-star, Bette Davis.
